Responsible waste management (version 3).Did You Know That?
June 10th, 2018
Recycling is becoming more and more integrated to our habits of life, and it is so much better! The day to day gesture of recycling enables us to preserve our resources by allowing to remake new with the old. Here are a few examples:
• Tons of paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and metal still take the path of the garbage bag instead of being deposited in the recovery and recycled into useful products. Same destination for table and garden waste that could be recycled by composting. In addition, hundreds of computers, tons of clothes, furniture, appliances, printer cartridges and paint cans are still deposited in the garbage when they could be reconditioned and reused.
• The principle of the"3Rs"? In fact, this principle can be applied to every day, wherever you are. The first "R" is to reduce waste, because the least harmful waste is the waste that is not produced. The second "R" is for reuse which aims to extend the life of existing assets such as paper, cardboard, clothing for example. The third "R" for recycling. Thus, recovering the glass, plastic and aluminum, can produce new everyday products. Finally, the "V" means the valuation either for composting or for the purpose of energy production.
• Twenty-five percent (25%) of all waste generated in Quebec comes from building materials? Reduction - Reuse - Recuperation - Recycling... words that one must have in mind when it comes time to undertake construction, renovation or demolition at home ..
